Hi, we are Spenser & Mike and we are the farmers behind Hidden Gem Farm. The farm is Spenser's full-time job, while Mike is there to help during his days off from being a highschool science teacher. We started our farm in 2020 during the pandemic and have continued to grow it ever since. Spenser fell in love with local cut flowers in 2018 after a tragic family loss. Upon moving to Chesapeake with Mike, they decided to start a cut flower farm in Hampton Roads to show the community the beauty and benefits of buying and using locally grown flowers.

Our farm is settled on 3 acres near the Great Dismal Swamp. Of that 3 acres, half is allocated to flowers and the other half is for our farm animals including goats, miniature horses & donkeys, chickens, ducks, and rabbits (and yes there are always babies around).

 

While we do sell some flowers commercially to the public, our main focus is selling to florists and wholesalers in the Hampton Roads area.
